Meltblown nonwoven fabrics are made by extruding a polymer melt, stretching it through a high-speed airflow into ultrafine fibers, and then cooling and solidifying it into a disordered web. Meltblown fabric is the core material for face masks. Medical masks and N95 masks are composed of spunbond, meltblown, and spunbond layers, with both the spunbond and meltblown layers made of polypropylene (PP).
